Scope of Work

Pacific Marine Group proudly undertook a pivotal project conducted by the Milne Bay Provincial Government and Climate Change and Development Authority from December 2021 to May 2023, which faced a seven-month delay due to Covid-19. The project encompassed the secure demolition of the old wharf, in line with environmental requirements, and the construction of a modern one bolstered by 47 robust steel tubular piles and a pre-fabricated pontoon.

The extent of work carried out also involved the supply and setup of a variety of elements, including precast structural concrete, wharf furniture, and a series of facilities such as a new guard house and car parking areas. The project also focused on infrastructural upgrades and fuel bunkering system installation management.

Description of Work:
  • Demolition of the old wharf and disposal.
  • Demolition of the old wharf and disposalof Debris as per applicable environmental requirements and standards.
  • Driving of 47 steel tubular piles to support the new wharf and prefabricated pontoon with the following specifications:
  • 327m of 610mm x 20mm wall thickness steel piles.
  • 1990m of 711mm diameter x 16mm wall thickness steel piles.
  • 41m - 57m long, vertical and raking piles.
  • Rake Tolerance (H:V) = 1:50.
  • Horizontal position tolerance 75mm.
  • Design, Supply and installation of prefabricated modular pontoon including all furniture and attachments.
  • Supply and installation of all Precast structural concrete, involving 52 elements cast in PMG’s.
