Scope of Work

BMA requirements were to fabricate and construct a jetty structure which housed submersible pumps to supply freshwater to mines in the surrounding area. The pump station is situated on the Mackenzie river 25km North of Blackwater. The structures were designed in line with 200-year flood data, which lead to design of 5 storey control tower for the submersible pumps.

  • Assembly of road transportable marine piling spread consisting of 2off 12m pontoons, pile frame and connecting structure.
  • Mobilisation and site assembly of 250Te crawler crane.
  • Fabrication and installation of 5 storey control tower, works included pouring concrete slab, fabrication and assembly of tower as well as erection on site.
  • Installation of 16off steel piles including PDA testing of 4off piles at end of drive and restrike after 72hours.
  • Off-site pre-cast works for headstocks and deck units, delivery and installation on site.
  • Site concrete pours to integrate headstocks to steel piles, pile plugs and stitching of headstocks together with formwork.
  • Fabrication and installation of 3off enveloper tubes to house pumps, underdeck support structure fabricated and installed.
  • Fabrication and erection of overhead monorail structure to overhaul submersible pumps.
  • Collapsible handrail design and installation to allow for a hinged system that would not damage concrete fixing in a flood event.
